Make a list and stick to it!

When we bought our first home in 2013, my husband and I had a list of wants. We bought a home that checked off exactly ZERO items on that list. Needless to say, the home didn't function for us. When we sold it five years later to move to North Carolina, we found a house which checked off EVERYTHING on our original list - three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, open concept living area, garage, closets, cul-de-sac, and a big old yard.

Everything was going perfectly until COVID hit; like many others, we retreated to our home. We planted a vegetable garden and spent countless hours in the yard. Beginning to feel like farmers, we decided we needed another set of helping hands and along came Theodore nine months later. He's turned out to be NO HELP AT ALL, but he's adorable and shows promise of pulling his weight in a few more years.

Now we need four bedrooms and I need an office to keep up with my growing list of clients and so we'll soon be bidding adieu to our beloved homestead...

And while our new home doesn't have quite as much land as this one, I've reached out to the individual property owners on either side of our lot to see if we can purchase their land to expand ours.

I can't wait to share the process of building our new home in Seaside Bay. Please don't ask me if I'm having more kids - they're all freeloaders :)
